Schadenfreude-licious
Awww, poor, pitiful Ann. Why, oh why won't more of those stupid Republican rubes vote for Mittens?
Liberal Fascism (*Cough*)
A bit late to the party, (the folks at Sadly No! having already thoroughly and hilariously rubbished the book froms stem to stern several weeks ago), here's Slate's Tim Noah, also putting the liberal jackboot into the doughy pantload. And in the clip above, you'll note confirmation of Noah's hypothesis that "Some mean liberals called Goldberg hurtful names, so he's responding with 400 pages that boil down to: I know you are, but what am I?"
Grating Briton: Margaret Thatcher
Hardly worth noting, but for the ridiculous nature of the the honorific (courtesy of the magnanimous Rupe!) and for the pathetically shameless sycophancy and pandering of David Cameron. As well, another good opportunity to employ an old “Spitting Image” graphic…
Bwah ha ha ha ha!!! (Part II)
Poor LuLu… currently barricaded in her house by the unintended consequences of Mr. Plow and facing yet another impending torrent of snow, combined with lashings of bitter wind and bone-chilling temps. Meanwhile, in Paradise®… Well, let’s just take a look-see out the window… Oh golly, it’s 3C with a forecast of “partly cloudy” (boo) but with warmer temps on the way and maybe a spot of rain later in the week. This is what’s laughably called “winter” here.
Animal Farm: Episode 1 - Part 7 & 8
Lean beef... horrible stuff. Unfortunately, most steaks these days are practically inedible. I have to agree with the anti-GM, organic foodie here. Fat is where the interest lies. If it's "bad" for you, well so be it.

Animal Farm: Episode 1 - Part 1 & 2
A series from the UK's Channel 4 about modern biotechnology, genetic engineering, and selective breeding.
Forgotten Fundamentals of the Energy Crisis
"The greatest shortcoming of the human race is our inability to understand the exponential function." So says University of Colorado Prof. Emeritus Albert A. Bartlett in this no-nonsense presentation entitled "Arithmetic, Population and Energy" that deals with the fast approaching consequences of sustained economical growth with finite resources.

Democratic Debate: Best Line
Kind of a snooze-fest despite all of the hype about the debate being "historic" and all that. Without question this was the best zinger of the night.
Aussie Election Results Shredder
From the recent election in Australia where John Howard went down to ignominious defeat. Somehow it's hard to imagine the CBC or CTV doing the same thing, although it would be hilarious.
Oh No, Not Again!
It’s hard to retain much respect for Nader considering his likely backers and their suspect motives for supporting his candidacy should it materialize. Not of course that what he says about the broken political process isn’t largely correct.
Election... What Election?
Ah yes, that all-important "youth vote" we hear so much about.
Then again, maybe all hope isn't lost. Check out this kid. He's pretty amazing.

The Secret Government
CNN wants us to take a dopey walk down memory lane with Ronald Reagan following tonight’s Republican debate. Well, let’s do that why don’t we...
This is an edited version of a documentary that aired on PBS in 1987. It provides an overview of what has actually happened in the last 50 years regarding the CIA and the Cold War (including Iran, Guatamala, Cuba, Viet Nam and Chile), with particular focus on the Iran-Contra scandal.
Full version which focuses on Iran-Contra:

What the Buck?!
Funny stuff about the Huckster towards the end of the clip. The rest is fairly hilarious too. And really, who doesn't hate clowns?
Toronto Tetris
Say what you will about TO, but it has one of the UGLIEST and most phenomenally BORING skylines in the world. (I say that as a graphic designer occasionally forced to represent it in an iconic way. And that damn tower... give me a fucking break! It just mucks up everything.)
A Milestone of Sorts
A rather sad achievement by comparison to some, I know, but a somewhat noteworthy milestone since July of last year.
Five Feet of "Fun"
According to wingnut diva, Five Feet of Fecal Matter®, “Insult is good. When I was a child we made fun of fat kids and there were fewer fat kids because of it. God forbid we hurt the feelings of our little ones. Boo hoo.”
Um, okay. So how then do we explain the existence of the corpulent termagant pictured above?
By the way, feel entirely free to go ahead and make “fun” of this dumpy sack of shit. After all… It’s good. And who knows, your efforts might just result in there being fewer horrific midgets like Kathy Shaidle around one of these days.
