A Story of Rags to Riches... and More Riches
Cary Grant plays Earnest Bliss, a wealthy, bored socialite who makes a £50,000 wager with his therapist that he can make a living for one year using none of his inherited wealth.
The 1936 film is an adaptation of the novel The Curious Quest by E. Phillips Oppenheim (who co-wrote the screenplay). Not exactly top-notch Grant by any means, but there are still some glimmers of the sparkling performances to come.
